Week of March 8th, 2010

8th Grade-Students review assessment on Google Docs skills.
7th Grade-Students review assement on Excel
6th Grade-.Students complete assessment on Excel skills for trimester
.
5th Grade-.Students will shop online to determine which store has the best deal on USB Flash Drives. They will compare Memory size and price and other benefits to find the best one. They will us excel to add their findings and graph it.

.4th Grade-.Students practice using the process of cut/copy and paste on the computer
3rd Grade- Students will create a poster on How to help our Environment .

2nd Grade- will determine where all the keys are on a blank keyboard. They will also type using the Home Row position.

1st Grade-.Students will learn how to use the digital camera and see their results on the computer.

Kindergarten- will type keys from the Home Row using an online website http://www.sense-lang.org/typing/tutor/index.php?lang=EN

For students in grades 4-8 please check the stationery list for the color folder purchase needed for September.
Classroom Rules Grades 4-8
- .Bring folder every week/No writing on folder
- Respect others during class
- Parent's signature on assignments must be returned in 2 weeks
- If you are not in the computer classroom you must makeup the class missed. Please see Mrs Brousseau for scheduling a time to makeup class. All makeups must be made up before the next class. This will help you understand the skills you missed.
If the above rules 1-2-3 have not been followed 1 demerit will be given. However, if you do not makeup your class when scheduled and before the following weeks' class 2 demerits will be given. If during the remaining year you miss making up class 3 demerits will be given. I schedule this time for you and you must be responsible for the missing work.
Guess what is new at St Ephrem school-
We have a few new Computers in some classrooms for Grades K-1-2. They are Dell with the Operating System - Vista and also has MS Office 2007.

Practice your keyboarding during the school year. Try 3 days for just 10 minutes. Keep your hands in the Home Row position. Below are 2 websites and I may add more so keep typing and check back.

Week of February 15th, 2010

8th Grade-Students will continue with Google Docs using Spreadsheet.Students will work in groups in a shared Spreadsheet. Each student must locate 5 similar skills between Excel and Spreadsheet and find 5 items that are not in Spreadsheet or that are in Spreadsheet but not Excel. List your name after each items in the shard Spreadsheet. This must be completed by 2-24-2010. Do not come to me and tell me your computer is not working,you are responsible for your work. You can use my room to work but it still must be completed by 2-24-2010.

Project finished from Week 2-1-2010-Google Presentation- Students will access Google Presentation (like Powerpoint). Students will create a presentation and email it to me when done. Your presentation must have at least, 10 slides. Add all the skills you know how to do from Powerpoint that Presentation has. If it has new or different items show that as well on different slides. You must show How to do what you found.
Go to Documents click on create New and choose Presentation. When done always remember to click on save and close. When ready to email it to me Click on right top corner the Share button and choose email as an attachment. Complete this by Wednesday 2-3-2010. Email me at jbrousseau2010@gmail.com
