Reading Log will be due February 9th.

Reminders

  • Income Survey should be filled out and returned from the youngest or only.
  • Chaperone papers for class trip.
  • 8th grade party theme survey.


Religion:  Study all four mysteries of the rosary.  Reread chapter nine.  Study all highlighted material.  Type twenty question quiz.  Have two copies: one blank and the other the answer key.

Grammar: Noun clauses.  Study workbook page--noun clauses used as the subject.

Literature: Reread both stories "The White Umbrella" and "The Medicine Bag."  Work on rough draft of comparison of these stories.  Copy of comparison should be placed in Phschool.com  by February 10, 2012.  Rough draft is due Thursday 2/9/2012 Review all notes for test next Tuesday.

Writing: All students who completed the blog assignment have a 100 for participation for writing class.

Spelling: Study and work on first five words for lesson fifteen.

Vocabulary:  Complete the parts of speech for all ten words for lesson fifteen.

Reading: Have your copy of The Giver with you in class. Answers the questions for chapter fifteen.  Third test on this novel will be taken after reading chapter fifteen.  Make sure your notes are up to date. Test on Tuesday.

Reading Log:  Thirty-four hours for your reading log is your goal for Thursday, February 9, 2012. Congrats to the many students who are already there!!!!

Leisure Literature second report for the second trimester is due at the end of the second trimester. Keep Reading!

Art:Work on art project each morning. All projects must be completed by the following Tuesday, unless told otherwise.   You can view the needlepoint instruction at

Reading Log: Goal for the year--ONE MILLION Words. Twenty hours a trimester--you can do it. Check the blog for sources. Read material from the internet, a magazine, a newspaper, or a short story.  There are five different magazines available to you in both classroom.

NOVELS ARE TO BE READ FOR YOUR LEISURE LITERATURE ASSIGNMENT--NOT YOUR READING LOG.

Two books will be read each trimester--if you are a member of Reading Olympics you may use any of those books as required reading. Other suggestions are on our classroom blog. Book report forms are due the midway and at the end of each trimester.

First in Math: Make sure you have completed (10 minute) every night. Congrats to the seven students who already reached over 2000 points. Students were expected to be at 1500 by January 20.

Library:complete all assignments.

Spanish: Check Spanish homework site.

Gym on Mondays Wear your gym uniform.

Computer:Complete all homework by Wednesday. Check Computer website. Be prepared for class.
